I opened the box of 200 — do the steel plates look thick and sturdy, or thin and cheap?
The Navellon nail plates are listed as a 200-piece pack of 3″ x 1.5″ 16-gauge steel stud guards with sharp pointed prongs, for protecting plumbing and wiring in wood studs. This video is an unboxing and visual build-quality inspection — not an install demo — so judge thickness, finish, and prong quality from what is shown.
• 200 pieces per pack as listed
• 3″ x 1.5″ size as listed
• 16-gauge steel as listed
• Sharp pointed prongs as listed
• For plumbing and wiring protection in wood studs
• This is a visual inspection — check the video for real thickness and finish quality
• Verify the prong sharpness and how well they look like they will bite into studs
• Check edge finish for burrs that could snag wire insulation
• Confirm the plate dimensions against your local code requirements
• 200 pieces is a contractor quantity — check the per-piece value against smaller packs
Do they look thick and sturdy or thin and cheap?
That is the unboxing inspection — check the video for the honest visual verdict.
Are 16-gauge plates enough for the job?
16 gauge is the listed spec — check your local building code for what protection is actually required.
What should I check before buying?
Confirm the size, gauge, and count on the Amazon listing, and watch the unboxing for the real build quality.
May suit DIYers and contractors wanting bulk stud protection plates, if the build quality in the unboxing looks solid.
